Did you know? 

There are a number of medical conditions that can rob you of your equilibrium and increase your chances of falling, including these ENEMIES of EQUILLIBRIUM:

• Neurological conditions – Such as Parkinsons, MS, stroke or brain trauma

• Diabetes

• Vertigo

• Foot Problems

• Postural hypotension

• Eye diseases

• Medications & their interactions – the more prescriptions you take, the higher your risk

 

You have a HIGHER RISK OF FALLING if you have any of the following:

• Hip or Knee replacements / Other surgeries of the legs & feet

• Use of a cane or walker 

• Insensitive feet / Loss of sensation in the feet

• Gait abnormalities

• Physical deconditioning due to a sedentary lifestyle

 

REGULAR ACTIVITY & EXERCISE CAN HELP YOU TO REGAIN YOUR EQUILLIBRIUM & PREVENT FALLS by:

• Strengthening muscles

• Strengthening bones & slowing osteoporosis

• Increasing flexibility

• Increasing energy and endurance

• Strengthening the heart, lungs and increases confidence and promotes a sense of well being​
