On your initial visit you will be asked to provide the doctor's referral or prescription for physical therapy and your insurance information.
If your claim is through Labor and Industries,
please provide the L & I claim number and the date of injury. If you are insured through Group Health or Regence Healthy Options you will need an authorization from your insurance company. Although you may have a prescription from your surgeon, you will need to contact your primary care provider to request the insurance authorization.

To more easily examine your injury we may ask you
to change into a patient gown. If you would be more comfortable in your own shorts and tee shirt or tank top please bring them with you. If you are being seen for foot orthotics please bring a few pairs of shoes you frequently wear.

The first appointment usually takes about an hour and a half. You will be examined and a treatment plan decided on. This "plan of care" will include your goals as well as that of your physician and therapist. Treatment may include the use of modalities, manual therapy skills, information on symptom management, body mechanics, positioning and posture, and an individual exercise program designed to assist with your recovery.
